Professional wrestler Aman Sehrawat is the youngest Indian to win an individual Olympic medal and a bronze medallist at the Paris Olympics.

For me, 2024 has been amazing. I took first place in the men’s 57 kg division in the Zagreb Open in January.

Later, I defeated Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Ravi Dahiya to earn India a quota spot at the 2024 Summer Olympics at the World Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament in Istanbul.

Through technical superiority, I defeated Zelimkhan Abakarov and Vladimir Egorov to advance to the men’s 57 kg semifinals in the 2024 Olympics.

I am thrilled to be the youngest Indian to earn an individual Olympic medal, but I am also unhappy that I only took home the bronze.

Over the years, I’ve had a lot of assistance from many people. Yes, I have experienced many challenges, but I have also had the help of my coaches and my senior wrestler, Sagar Phalswal, who helped me keep on course. Sagar is similar to my older sibling.
