Neeraj Chopra,
a renowned javelin thrower from India, has won gold in every major competition, including the Asian Games, the Olympics, and the World Championships.
Neeraj Chopra feels that more work needs to be done before his life is immortalized on screen, despite his amazing accomplishments.
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, the 26-year-old Chopra stated, “I believe biopics should be made after a person retires.”
Chopra believes his biography is still being written, despite Bollywood having released sports films about a number of Indian sports stars, including as Saina Nehwal, Mary Kom, and MS Dhoni.
The more you achieve in your job and for your country, the greater the story would be, Neeraj Chopra continued. “We have seen movies made on milestones,” he said.
Chopra, who is from the Panipat area of Haryana, has accomplished something that no other Indian athlete has. He became the first Indian to win gold at the World Athletics Championships in 2023 and earned India’s first Olympic medal in athletics, a gold in Tokyo 2020.
The Indian athlete’s illustrious career also includes silver medals in the 2024 Summer Olympics and the 2022 World Athletics Championships, as well as medals from the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and Diamond League Trophy.
Chopra mentioned Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda when asked who he could see portraying him in the biopic in the future.
“Randeep Hooda is the only person that comes to me right now, but I’m not sure who would be a good fit for the job then. “He’s from Haryana and is a fantastic actor,” Chopra remarked. “The person portraying the role needs to be able to speak the language (and accent) correctly.”
Chopra’s journey from a small town to international fame is a tale of perseverance and fortitude that was crafted specifically for the big screen.
Chopra was overweight as a child, weighing almost 90 kg at the age of 11, but he went on to become a top athlete. In addition to being a sports legend, he is now in high demand for magazine covers, TV appearances, and brand endorsements.
