Boxer Nikhat Zareen of India voiced her regret after her Olympic campaign ended without her winning a medal, saying it pained to see opponents who she had already defeated go on to win. She accepted that it was just not her day,

but she is still committed to coming back stronger and is actively looking for a personal coach to help her with her training.

Strong medal candidate Nikhat was eliminated from the 50kg women’s boxing category with a unanimous decision loss to China’s Wu Yu, the current Asian Games champion and top seed. She was the first of six Indian boxers to make it to the Olympics and make her debut.

Nobody is flawless. My day was not this one. I had to fight a really skilled fighter in the first round because I wasn’t seeded. “It was heartbreaking to see boxers I had already defeated in previous competitions win medals,” the woman said to PTI Videos.

“But we must move forward and accept the situation as it is. I prefer to go with the flow and not make any plans. She said, “I didn’t have a personal coach.

Nikhat, a two-time world champion, is currently searching for a personal coach. For a while, I was receiving instruction at the Inspire Institute. I’m looking for a reputable coach that can help me improve as a boxer.

She said, “Change is always good,” and stated that she would like to train abroad. I have more practice opportunities abroad since those boxers encourage me to step outside of my comfort zone.

I’ll also make an effort to practice with numerous boxing techniques; one must possess the ability to fight any style on any given day.”

In response to a question regarding her areas of weakness, Nikhat emphasized that she wanted to “improve on my strength.”

The suspension of the International Boxing Association owing to financial mismanagement and governance concerns casts doubt on boxing’s Olympic future. India left the IBA to join World Boxing, an organization supported by the International Olympic Committee.

They could switch up the weight divisions. I will be happiest if there is a 52 kg category because that is the weight that I feel most comfortable at,” the woman stated.
