Jasprit Bumrah, India’s go-to wicket-taker, took his team’s first wicket on Day 4 of the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur on Monday.
The contest resumed after the second and third days of play were totally wiped out owing to rain and a soggy outfield, with India captain Rohit Sharma putting the ball in the hands of Bumrah for the team’s fourth Bangladesh wicket. Burmah didn’t have to wait long to take the opening wicket, dismissing Mushfiqur Rahim on the third over of the day.
It was one of Bumrah’s typical deliveries, which the batter failed to read and chose to abandon. Rahim chose to let the ball go, thinking it was an outswinger, but was shortly interrupted by the sound of the ball slamming into the stumps. Rahim, stunned, was forced to walk back to the pavilion.
