The 29th Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship, which will take place at the DLTA Complex from September 28 to October 12, will feature top seed Prajwal Dev, defending champion Rashmikaa S. Bhamidipaty, and multiple Asian Games gold Vishnu Vardhan. Former India No. 2 Riya Bhatia is among the other notable names.
The competition will feature age-group divisions for boys and girls in the U-18, U-16, and U-14 age groups in addition to the senior category. Singles and doubles events for men, women, U-18 boys, and U-18 girls will be played during the first week of the competition.
The main draw will take place from September 30-October 5; the qualification rounds are set for September 28–29.
October 6–12 is when the boys’ and girls’ U–16 and U–14 categories will take place.
In the junior categories, the competition offers a kit allowance along with a total prize money of Rs 21.55 lakh.
In order to assist the up-and-coming young talent, Ajay S. Shriram, chairman and senior managing director of DCM Shriram Ltd., announced scholarships worth Rs 25,000 to the winners and runners-up of the U16 and U14 singles tournaments.
