IRVINE — For the Portola and St Nick Margarita young ladies tennis crews, arriving at the CIF-SS Open Division elimination rounds was a first for the two schools.
The Bulldogs, the No. 2 seed in the Open Division, crushed the No. 3 seed Falcons, 10-8, Wednesday at Portola High, and presently advance to a much higher level – a compartment in CIF-SS finals.
Portola (21-0) will play top-cultivated Palos Verdes (22-0) for the Open Division title at 5:15 p.m. Friday at the College of Redlands.
